So, my site got hacked by some Iranians… That was kinda shitty. I actually don’t know for sure who did it, but anyone who attempted to visit my site yesterday saw the following screen:

I’m pretty sure this was a result of me not upgrading Wordpress (the software that powers this site) to the latest version. I’m thinking there was some sort of vulnerability in Wordpress 1.5 that these bastards took advantage of. The rest of my webspace is fine, and my email is also untouched. That being said, I’ve gone ahead and changed all my passwords associated with this website, and I’ve upgraded to the latest version of Wordpress.
I haven’t been able to find out much about the “Minus-Power Coding Team” but the link to irvirus.com has some details about an Iranian virus-writing group. They claim to be an “underground Persian virus programmers club.” I wouldn’t be overly surprised if this ‘hack’ was done by a script or automated program that searches the Internet for software with security flaws and then does its nasty business. In any case, I’m not very happy about this, but at least it was easy to fix.
