Beard update

Posted in General, Health by Rob

Due to popular demand, here is a quick update on the beard (two people counts as popular demand in my books). My facial hair is growing faster than I expected, but not as full as I would have hoped. I’m thinking I could grow a pretty decent moustache, but not a full beard since it comes in patchy everywhere else. It’s itchy sometimes, but only in the neck region, which isn’t too bad. I last shaved November 28th, so it’s been 10 days so far. The amount of time I save every morning is astounding. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to last all the way until Christmas without shaving, but I’m a little bit afraid of how I’m going to look by then. I’ll have another update sometime next week. Here’s a few pics for the curious:

Christmas beards!

Posted in General by Rob

Hot on the heels of the Gillette story, here’s some more shaving related news. My good buddy Spencer recently suggested that us guys stop shaving during the month of December and grow Christmas beards. I have never grown a beard, and any attempts I have made were quite pitiful. It either looks like pubes on my face or a shitty, patchy, dirty Scientologist Tom Cruise-esque beard. But as Spencer said, there’s a certain solidarity or brotherhood that comes with a few guys all trying to grow beards at the same time. So I figure with the price of razors these days, I’ll just become even lazier and stop shaving for as long as I can tolerate it. It’s been about five days so far (I got a head start and stopped shaving a few days before December began) and I have bit of a dirty beard going so far. I’ll probably end up shaving it off in a day or two, but we’ll see how it goes. I would encourage all guys and any hairy girls to get in the holiday spirit and grow a Christmas beard.
